American-Expat alto saxophonist from the Philippines, Rick Countryman, has traveled to Kuala Lumpur many times, both as an individual artist and with Swiss Avant Garde drummer, Christian Bucher. Their first trip in July 2019 began the two artists collaborating with Malaysian tenor saxist, Yong Yandsen. Rick traveled again in December to participate with Yong in the KLEX 2019 Festival, and Yong would travel to Manila in March 2020 to join Rick with Sabu Toyozumi in several recorded and released live performances.

The recordings were described as “power, intense and inspiring free music played at its best. Live Fact Session opens with a free blowing sax duo, an intense exchange of creative directions, then Yong and Rick are joined by Christian for the remaining tracks, adding colorful percussive tonalities and extending the dimensions of spontaneity and free, unique, sublime communication.
